Originally called Deanington, Orion was founded on December 26, 1853. From building parks to repairing its bandshell, throughout its history, caring residents have stepped forward to make the town a better place to live. In 2018, Orion celebrated its bicentennial with Civil War music and period-era dance.
Central Park: Home of the town’s beautiful bandstand, Central Park hosts many concerts and community events during the year. The bandstand was built in 1913 and was recently restored. The shelters at the park are available for local residents to rent.
Love Park: Another gathering spot for the community, Love Park has baseball fields, softball fields and shelters available for rental.
Orion Fall Festival: Held in Central Park during Labor Day weekend, this annual tradition is a gathering of the community for a good cause—to raise funds for the local school system. There are carnival rides, arts and crafts, a parade and a 5k run. Perhaps the highlight of the festival is the popular, and delicious, pie auction.
Triple E: You can rent everything from ATVs to snowmobiles at Triple E rentals. They have all of the essentials to enjoy a country lifestyle.
